====== Blood Cemetery ====== **Blood Cemetery** is the debut independent studio album by KingCobraJFS, self-published to iTunes in 2010. It can be charitably described as "Avant-Garde Metal" and features ten tracks, with a total play time of 79:55. {{:albums:bloodcemetarycover.jpg?400 |}} ---- ===== Background and Production ===== Originally a 20-track megadisc, Josh was required to reduce the size of the disc after realizing such puny technology was simply not ready for his musical talent in the 2010s. This came at some difficulty, as Josh had "Lost" many of the original tracks, forcing the would-be rockstar to start from scratch on many tracks. Josh would post many of his early concepts for the album covers in the run-up to his album release to draw attention and hype. ===== Music and Lyrics ===== The music heavily features Josh's singing voice and improvised guitar strumming accompanied by numerous backing tracks including samples of piano, bass, violin, R&B and rap drum beats, usually at the cost of his arrhythmic strumming, broken up by what could be potentially guitar solos. The sampling often jars badly with the tone Josh is attempting on his guitar, resulting in an incredibly chaotic sound akin to free-form jazz without the consistency of genre.\\ The lyrics focus heavily on generic gothic topics such as death, destruction, blood, and metal. Unfortunately, due to the sound mixing, it's nearly impossible to actually make out what Josh is saying.\\ The album's sixth track, Love Sick, includes the opening minute of Crossfade's Cold in lieu of an intro. ===== Track Listing ===== All music written by Joshua "KingCobraJFS" Saunders. ^No. ^Title ^ Length | |1|Blood Cemetery|6:09| |2|Comfortably Numb|6:28| |3|Rock in Roll All the Way to Hell|3:49| |4|Blood on My Hands Madness With In|4:57| |5|Love Music|4:50| |6|Love Sick |9:04| |7|Corpse Lake|9:09| |8|Done|19:09| |9|Fuck It I'm Done|10:34| |10|Broken Metronome|5:46| ---- ===== Reception and Criticism===== Blood Cemetery released to a lukewarm reception, garnering no critics that weren't just Troles. Josh famously sent in a copy to Simmons Records, but never got a response. \\ Blood Cemetery currently sits at a 2.22 on RateYourMusic.
