Original Video: restringing a fender
What's up tubes? It got me at a particular moment. Right now I'm in the process of re-stringing the guitar here. And if you own any sort of fender type guitar, then you know exactly what I'm talking about when I say this process right here where you have to you know get the um thing up and then of course maybe this just requires a simple screwdriver then just last this is a simple screwdriver then just last this last just requires a simple screwdriver then. Just last, this other one. Oh I've got like three in here even though there should be four but missing one screw is not going to make much of a difference really. And if I can just get, there's two of these screws out. I'll go to slide it open and get it in there. I got an idea for guitars that's pretty revolutionary. I just thought of it about… I don't know like a minute ago or something. And… I don't know, like a minute ago or something. And… I'm You know, it's slightly pretty good, but the more, you know, it's, it's slightly pretty good, but the more shit that gives you, the more determined you become in turn to do what you want to do and do what you need to do to get it done, you know. You can't let life just kick you in the keyster every time something doesn't go perfect. Yeah. I mean it's turning but it's not coming loose like what's coming? I mean it's turning but it's not coming loose like what the fuck the screwheads aren't stripped it's just the weirdest shit That's some bull hockey. 10,000 years later. It's being a pain in the ass is what it is. But essentially if you want to change out the strings on your guitar for like your fender, then you got to take the back plate off, once you get the back plate off, you get the back plate off, gotta take the back plate off once you get the back plate off. This is Unfucking but legal, it's talk too, and I want to come out. So like the tops of the screws aren't stripped but like the grooves where the screws sit like on the screw itself. stripped because like the heads on these aren't even… Yeah, they're not stripped at all. I mean, they got a lot too big. Hold on, maybe, just maybe I might have. A smaller drill bag could be the answer to this. Just little, uh little situation here. Where did… Where did… Where did… I can't have lost all that good snow. That's what I can't have lost all my current bits now. That's what would be nice. I don't see any back here. Oh. Oh, that's just a screw. Oh, here's a drill bit. I really have a key player trying to get these drill bits. I mean, this one was just a pitch bit smaller than the one I have in there right now. So, I mean, it might… It might…… It might…… It might…… It might………… it might work……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… It's just a pitch bit smaller than the one I have in there right now. So I mean, it might, it might work. We'll give it a try. There we go. That might actually do the trick slick. All right. I'm going to change out the drill bits. And let's see if we can't. I'm sorry. I'm so fucking tall shit. There it goes. Jesus fucking Christ This was There we go Take that piece of shit Might have had to bust some of the plastic off the fucking plate, but there you go. Painted my ass burners that was. And I'm sitting there and I'm like, you know, I feel myself getting angry, I'm like, you know, I'm not having this shit today. Like, I'm not doing this shit today. Pardon me wanting to fucking smash the guitar and I'm like, no, don't smash the guitar, just take a couple deep breaths. Okay, so once you've gotten the back plate off you take those little holes right in there is where you stick your string through to the corresponding hole which would be the n1 which probably be yeah this one right there all right okay so now we're going to I'm gonna There's a bunch of strings. Let's get these strings out. Let's get these strings out. Let's see if we can come up with you. Oh, it's definitely not going to be one of these thicker ones. Go through here…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… not going to be one of these thicker ones. Go through here and now these think is probably going to be this? Singing as one of you out here. There we go. Right yeah. So yeah, as far as to be this one then. Yep, sure shit, I don't know, right, let's get this string in there. And this little bit goes in last. It's not way when… He's dropping in there of shite back plate. And just for the sake of humoring myself, I'm going to put a back plate back on. So for all I know I'm going to have all four screws in here and I don't even realize it. I think it's about the only time power tools and guitar are really needed in the same vicinity, huh? When you're changing out a string on your guitar. So, so now that I got the string that's all hooked up to this side. It's not coming out of that little hole right there. Now we're going to bring it up to the spellcaster's tuning peg. and stick that string in there that's just like threading a needle what you get to do that whole, it's sliding into place. And line it up with the groove there. Okay. This is a little thing on the neck. You stick it at the string like this little piece right here. I stick the string underneath that. And when I do that, leave it in place, it lines up with that groove on the back. I'm All right so now that we've successfully done that we've done that we've done that we've successfully done that we're doing two things one or take a a similar players this is a little string bits on the end by the tuning peg and some guitars will keep them on there some little decide simply to just snip the ends off right here just depends on preference doesn't really affect the playing that much you know it just makes it look cleaner and take your broken string bits what have you and throw them away All right so now I want to take the remainder of these bundles of string I'm going to put the string in my acoustic guitar case with all the other guitar strings. So give her a nice rich sound. So now if we, uh, look ahead, now I got all six back on here. And, all right, so, put that in, we'll be missing on the guitar. I'll being a sarcastic, of course, I know what I'm missing., I'll be missing on the guitar. Ah! I've been a sarcastic, of course I know what I'm missing on the guitar. Come on. The tremolo bar. This is actually a Fender Starcaster. This is a Fender Starcaster. This is a Fender Starcaster. It's a cheaper version of the Strata castor, and the labors met for a Strata castor, we later worked for the start, start here. I don't know where the how did my pick go. Oh, there it is. the I should probably take this ring off on my left hand so that we can get a fuller range here. I'm I'm Oh, that's why it went out of tune again. Okay, I just had a war on what the hell. Oh that's why it went time, itassus. I'm the The fuck was that. I'm I'm I'm Oh, you got a whammy bar, you gotta play it. I'm And for people who say, you're just using distortion to hide your mistakes, well. I mean, what am I going to make a write? No distortion. No distortion. No distortion. Take off the echo so we can hear it better. That's not completely clean sounding. Oh, well, okay, you net picky sons of bitches. All right. See what I mean. Yeah. I'm I'm I guess that's a little too much fun. Hold on. Hold on. And there's that, because I've got a little too much fun in it. Hold on a second. And there we got it's more like it. Of course, what are you thinking of that clean sound? Like, Like, like less distortion, more like less distortion, more kind of a regular natural sound. Yeah. People like, oh, you're just using distortion to hide your mistakes. And I'm like, what about that? I mean… Sounds kind of weird, that distortion doesn't it? Get the kind of 50s rock sound going on. I mean, I love that. Well I mean I guess that's how you change this string on one of these things right here. I'm I'm the I'm Oops. Oops I mean I guess however your shape it what else you call that. At the moment. But yeah, like I said, that's how you, uh, that's how you change out the strings on a fender. Unscrew the back plates. Push it through the according hole. The, uh, responding hole., push it through the, hole the responding hole and string it through man that's how you do it now I will say that my BC-rich warlock is a a thousand times easier to restring easier to restrain. Just because of the way the, it's set up, the string holes, on the outside of the guitar, you just push it through, push it through, tune it, you're good, blind it off, you know. a fender. I don't think I've actually ever made a video showing how to do that. There's tons of videos out there, people showing you how to restrain your fender. It's not that difficult, provided the five string became a six, it's like, oh look, the five string became a six string again. Gee, I wonder how that happened. The five string became a six string again. Gee, I wonder how that happened. I'm sorry I didn't I forgot to add the stupid expressions with it. Aspergers excuse me I mean, I'm not here to name names. But there's this one guitar player I've seen on YouTube and he has way more subscribers than I do and Okay, so he plays at these in guitar, but he's just Oh And I was subscribed to his channel for a bit, but then I just I couldn't take it anymore as almost a certain obnoxious note to his videos and um it's just like Yeah, I just I can't do this. I'm subscribing And I'm not here to start drama on YouTube, so I'm not going to pretty sick but I feel like that's unnecessary but um I mean, jet guitars are pretty sick, but I feel like 20 strings is just too much. Can I say that? Don't care, I just did. I mean, 10 to 12 strings is reasonable. I'd have a lot of fun on a 10 string guitar I would. Get some like really just gnarly ass tones with it you know. I've only had two guitar teachers in my entire life. Zach McGough and John Rudolph and then after I went through guitar teachers I started learning guitar through watching YouTube and then after I went through guitar teachers, I started learning guitar through watching YouTube videos. People be like, hi, so-and-so here today, show you how to play, da-da-da-da-da-da, first you got to tune your guitar to such tuning, and I'm like, well, how do you do that? Look it up real quick, okay, and you know, no, no, no, no, no, you know, and you start playing, and you start playing, and you start playing, and you start playing it, and you start playing it, playing it, and you start playing it, playing it, and you start playing it, playing it, playing, and you start playing it. Oh, that's feeling you get when you blister your fingers on the guitar strings. It's a wonderful feeling. Yeah. Anyways tubes thanks for watching me restring my spell caster and I'll catch you later
