**Uncle Shon the Dummy** is the longest and most infamous of Josh's companions, a Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist doll that has been heavily modified for life in Boglim habitats. Shon serves as friend, foil, dummy, content piece, and source of entertainment for the masses.

===== Shon and Saunders =====

Shon has remained a channel mainstay since the very beginning serving as the unhinged, foul-mouthed puppet companion to Josh's commentary. Shon serves as a comedic back-and-forth during these segments, often opening the sketch by claiming that he works in a mortuary, saying "I spend all day working with assholes with no lives, and today's no exception!" followed by a squealing laugh. During these segments, Shon is crass, antagonistic, unfriendly, and generally verbally assaults Josh for his trouble in between cursing out the boy and talking about how Josh has his hand up the puppet's rectum.

===== Inner monologue =====

To put it bluntly, Shon is often used as an outlet for Josh to admit to his personal failings as a YouTuber and a person. Often, Shon will directly target things that trolls commonly tell Josh, or various self-deprecating comments that he claims not to have as an autistic gothic rockstar bad boy: Comments regarding his inability to get laid, his catfish-like visage, how unhealthy he is, how he cheated on Stephanie, or how much of a loser he really is. Many fans theorize that this is a way for Josh to vent his feelings while maintaining the illusion of being tough and cool.
